Web Design
The science of web design is the process of scoping out a web site or intranet’s information requirments, creating a conceptual layout of the information and developing mock-ups of what the end product may look like.
During the design process I use a standard set of tools to accomplish the creating user interface mock-ups as well as how the user will navigate through the site. These tools are as follows:
Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is the standard tool of choice for most interface conceptualization. For every site mock-up that I create, Photoshop always plays a part.
Microsoft Visio
Visio is a great tool for creating process flow diagrams and laying out entire sites in a high level hierarchy.

During this design, the business development staff were interviewed to see exactly how they wanted the information presented for the company. Graphical elements were tied the a new corporate branding and rigid font and colour schemes were imposed by the creative director. The re-branded ZENON.com went live in May 2005.» Visit ZENON.com | |

| The corporate intranet at ZENON is a massive document management system developed with Opentext’s Livelink. In 2005 I was involved in the re-branding of the intranet to develop a more streamlined, function oriented interface where users could actually find the information they were looking for.The re-branding of the corporate intranet was done with Photoshop, XHTML, Dreamweaver and CSS. | |
