Start by entering all of the faboulous acts that come to mind and go from there based on the site’s suggestions. Build your library and then, wait for it, listen to all of it online for free!

I honestly couldn’t believe it. How many legal hoops did these guys have to jump through to get this off the ground?

Do yourself a favor.

Titled after a saying by my good buddy “Dutch”, this post will focus on the social networking tool that is “Twitter.”

I first stumbled onto Twitter some time ago however the recent resurgence of social digital networking has reignited my interest in this tool. Meg Parker’s one hour social networking seminar was the catalyst to re-examine Twitter.

To summarize Twitter, it is a simple online site where you can write short 140 character headlines or descriptions of what you are doing or what really turns your crank at that moment in time. It is sort of like a short blog post that can be written and published instantly. Instantly is really the key point here. You can publish from anywhere in the world on a variety of devices your thoughts second by second.

You are probably asking yourself “So What?” Well in the same vein as my “I’m LinkedIn - So What?” post, I will try to extol the virtues of Twitter. One example could be you want to know what is happening at an event (e.g. press conference, trial, trade show, key note speech, etc.) but you are not there. Well there is a good chance that someone else IS there and they are Twitter aware. These people are your gateway to you knowing what is happening second by second. Well the important stuff anyway.

Twitter allows you to “follow” active Twitter users that you value an opinion from. This adds to the complexity of the social networking side of the tool. It becomes the Who am I following, who is following who, and the real candy, who is following me. It hasn’t been 24 hours since I started following other Twitter users that now I find eight people now following me! Why I wonder? However they are and now the pressure is on.

In summary Twitter may not be for everyone, but for the near future let us keep an open mind and discover how we can leverage this light-weight tool to imrpove our digital networking experiences.

A joint venture of GE, Toshiba and Hitachi, spearheaded wastewater plant changes that drove down water usage site-wide at its Wilmington, N.C., headquarters. The result: a reduction in water usage by 25 million gallons annually at the facility, which includes GNF’s US-based fuel manufacturing operations. The plant has been working to optimize its operations and contribute towards GE’s overall ecomagination commitment to reduce its water footprint 20% by 2012. GNF’s new energy efficient wastewater system avoids nearly 80 tons per year of CO2 emissions, and realizes annual savings of $160,000 in water and energy use charges.

Masdar City is a planned “City of the Future” that is currently in development in Abu Dhabi. The goal is to build a self sustainable city with zero carbon footprint. The city will be powered completely on renewable energy sources such as wind and solar.

Over the last couple of days I have been having discussions in passing with several colleagues on the benefits of having a LinkedIn profile. I was amazed that even in this digital age of social networking and everyone saying Web two-point-oh with every other sentence and billions of dollars being spent on online marketing that people are still asking “So What?” about LinkedIn.

For those of you not-in-the-know, LinkedIn is a professional networking site similar to Facebook and mySpace with a business networking flair to it. I link to think of my LinkedIn profile as a creature born from my rolodex and resume. It lives and breathes, it is ever evolving and is constantly up to date.

But please don’t just take my word fo it. I believe Guy Kawasaki said it best when he blogged about the “Ten Ways to Use LinkedIn”
It has come to the point where it is almost unprofessional to not have a LinkedIn profile. Lets think about “Generation Y” and their social networking patterns. These people WILL run the world someday.

So without further adieu, see you there and please write me a glowing recommendation
