Shave and a Haircut Pt.2 October 29 2004
My wife Blair had recently entered a fund raising campaign for breast cancer research. Her objective was to raise $2000 CAD in funds, as a result a Toronto radio station (Mix 99.9) would shave her head and air it on the radio.
She was able to raise more than $2200 CAD and the shave went through. Perhaps you want to see pictures?
Thank you to everyone for your support, she looks great!
Hopefully I will have an audio clip soon of the radio broadcast.
Here are the photos taken by the radio station
Rounded CSS Boxes October 28 2004
I decided to create a general template for rounded CSS boxes today. I know this topic has been covered before on several sites, however I still felt that I wanted to do it from scratch.
This template provides the code for a vertically expandable CSS box with rounded corners. To expand horizontally, just change the width parameters.
The key to this exercise is the 4 corner images. The rest of the code is all XHTML/CSS.
Here is the result. Feel free to comment should you know how I could improve this design.
Browser compliant across IE/Moz/Opera.
Google Spider October 27 2004
The Google Spider has been by, however it does not appear to have followed my new blog links as I had hoped.
Has anyone else been able to get Google to index their entire blog using WordPress?
If so, please send email -> norvin@eitzenlabs.com
Cheers!
Mild Concussion? October 26 2004
I know this isn’t techie related, but I don’t care.
Concussion: injury to the brain caused by a blow; usually resulting in loss of consciousness (www.cogsci.princeton.edu/cgi-bin/webwn)
My wife and I have been practicing our Judo 2 nights a week. Yesterday I was flipped and my skull took some of the impact. All was well, until 10 minutes later when I said “What happened?” Apparently I carried on normally or perhaps sat down after I landed yet I have a gap in my memory from that time.
Long story short, the Nurse on TeleHealth told me to go to the Emergency …
ZeeWeed on Slashdot/Salon October 22 2004
It seems that the company I work for, ZENON Environmental, is causing a bit of a stir on slashdot today. There was an article posted on Salon.com about a water treatment facility in Singapore that recycles wastewater into drinking water. Here is the slashdot article. A very exciting Friday afternoon indeed!
